I think that depends largely on what you normally do with your computer. If you primarily download mp3's from itunes and surf the net then chances are you're good to go (although I'd suggest getting an anti-spyware suite).

IF YOU HAVE THE CASH FLOW TAKE IT TO THE BEST BUY GEEK SQUAD THEY CAN INSTALL ALL THE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE YOU WILL NEED TO FOR YOUR LAPTOP TO RUN,I BOUGHT MINE AT BEST BUY AND THEY INSTALLED EVERYTHING I NEEDED FOR A PRICE THOUGH OTHERWISE MAYBE THE INTERNET COULD TELL YOU OR CALL THE GEEK SQUAD THAT IS WHAT MY DAUGHTER DID TO GET HER PC WORKING.
why did u buy it ? figure that out and u might get some clues. Of course u need to keep the driver cd handy and the OS that came with the note book.
tried the Microsoft office package ?
